An invitation from our Grand Final Coaches
Both teams playing in Grand Finals this weekend have had a fantastic year , the Under 13's winning a second semi-final and going straight into the Grand Final, whilst the Under 11's lost the Second Semi, and came via a win in the Preliminary Final last weekend.
It is the first time that most of the se boys have played in a Grand Final in their football careers and we would like it to be as memorable as possible. Many of these boys have been together since Auskick and can play some seriously good football, come and witness it firsthand.
If you can make it along to the game and show your support for these couple of hours, it would be greatly appreciated by us coaches and no doubt the players. It would be fantastic to hear some support coming from the crowd. Please spread yourselves around the ground as your encouragement wherever the boys are will help lift them .
We hope you can make it and I look forward to seeing you at the ground in Red & White Colours if possible.
Yours Sincerely,Michael Bode (U13W) and Simon Farnbach (U11E)
To all parents and supporters
If you are planning to come along to support the boys this weekend, please make sure that you provide a good spread of support all around the ground. This makes sure that the players get support no matter where they are. It also makes sure that there is not a congregation of supporters in one spot, particularly near the coach's bench. You will recognise that despite our emphasis on fun at all times, the Coaches and Team Managers are serious about making sure that all of the boys are in a position to give their best, and enjoy this great opportunity. Please stay out of their way.
Also, a reminder of the Club Code of Conduct for parents and spectators. Parents and Supporters need to encourage and recognise the good efforts of all the participants, behave as an example of good sportsmanship to our children, and above all, give the umpires a fair go!
To the boys
To all the boys participating this weekend, congratulations on your efforts to make it to a Grand Final, which is a special occasion in your football career. Win, lose or Draw, do your best, be a good sport, and above all, have fun!
The Mordi-Brae Club, your parents and friends are very proud of you, just as we are of all of the 330 players who wore the red and white stripes in 2008.
After the Match
As this is a special weekend for these teams, the Clubrooms will be open from 3pm for the players, parents and spectators to get together and applaud the efforts of our boys, win, lose or draw. We will have a sausage sizzle on the go.
Match reports will commence at the special time of 5pm this Sunday, so please pass the word around.
