Registration of players

All players must be registered with both the club, and the Moorabbin Saints Junior Football League (MSJFL).

  • Registration with Mordi-Brae is required each yr. (download form)
  • Registration with the MSJFL is required once only. (download form)

To register with Mordi-Brae, you need to complete a Mordialloc-Braeside Junior Football Club Registration and Injury Screening Form, and have it signed by a Parent/Guardian and submitted to the Registration Officer. This must be done before you play. (includes practice matches). Forms are available at Registration Day or from the Registrar. (If you have previously played with Mordi-Brae, you will be posted a renewal Registration Form in early February).

To register with the MSJFL, you need to complete an MSJFL Registration Form (available at Registration Day or from the registrar), signed by parent (on the back and front) and signed by the player (on the front). You must also supply a copy of proof of date of birth of the player. Valid proof of DOB is any one of:

  • Birth Certificate or Extract of Entry
  • Passport
  • Health Centre Book with DOB page
  • Baptism Certificate
  • Letter from school on letterhead stating Date of Birth

In addition, if you are transferring from another club, you may need to complete a Clearance Form. The clearance form needs to be signed by the previous club’s president or secretary. You will need a clearance if:

  • You played with your previous club in the past 2 seasons, and
  • You will be playing in an Age group of Under 14 or above.

All applications for registration should be provided to your Team Manager, or direct to the Registration Officer. All other enquiries should be made to the Registration Officer, Kim Dyson, on 0439 261 848 or by email: Kim Dyson.

What year are you eligible to play in?

Age Eligibility is calculated on 1 Jan of each year. e.g. If you are 11 on 1 Jan, then you are Under 12 for that year.

Or another way to calculate your age group is to subtract your year of birth from the year of the season that you  wish to play. e.g. In 2009, a player who was born in 1994 is eligible for 2009-1994 = 15. i.e. the player is eligible for Under 15.

Players and parents should be aware that the club devloped a Player Placement Policy which outlines how players will be allocated to teams. A key part of this policy is that players will be allocated to play in their eligible age, unless strict criteria is met.You should check the details of the Player Placement Policy.
