Round 14 Roundup

We travelled down to Ben Kavanagh Reserve for our last game, and received a warm welcome from our Mordialloc Bloods hosts who were putting us up while the Under 10 Lightning Premiership was being held at Walter Galt.

Prahran was the team that we beat in the 2009 Under 11 Grand Final, and they had beaten us during this year. So, the game shaped up to be a close one, and with us without a win, there really was only one way to go.

And what a way to go! Despite having much of the play in the first quarter, we were only able to score 1-1 to Prahran's 0-1. We had good players all round, Matt C was in fine form up forward, Stevie M was playing strong, Tim marked well, and Jack C was covering a lot of ground.

We took off in the second quarter, and went into the sheds with the score 5-3 to 0-1. We didn't let Prahran score in the second quarter. Brad continued to work hard, Sam Holland was also playing well.

We put on a further 2 goals in the third quarter - Ryan was into everything by this stage, and Zeke was also burrowing in, getting first to the ball. Tom continued his solid game in this quarter, and was a valuable goal-kicker for the day with 2.

Our final quarter kept Prahran scoreless, and 0-2 to us, and so we finished off the game with our first and only win for the year. Well done to all players on a magnificent game.

Also, thanks to Conor, Dylan and Mason, who filled in to cover our players on camp - Taylor, Zach and Daniel.

Final Training Session

Great training session for both the Under 12 East and Under 13 South Teams who trained together for the last training session, followed by a pizza night.

Great thanks to the Mordi-Brae club for their support of this get together - special thanks to Mitch Dickie, Judi Boyd, John and Mary Meade for the setup of the night.

Final Match Reports

Our Final Match Reports were held on 8 August at the clubrooms, and we had a good turn-up of players and parents. Sam spoke about all of the boys, and presented them to the broader Mordi-Brae community. Thanks to Sam and Graeme for organising some pizzas for us all, and Danielle for providing some celebratory cake as dessert.

Thanks to Georgia Holland (and Dutchy) who put together a fanstastic slideshow with photos of all the boys playing during the year. We'll get this slideshow to all families at Presentation Day

Presentation Day

One more important date for the season - Presentation Day will be held on Sunday 12 September from midday on. More detail later, as there will likely be 2 sessions, and at this stage we are not sure which session the Under 12 East Team will be. I will let you know. Players will receive participation trophies and special awards.
