MORDI BRAE   -   4  -  10  -  34                                                                     Waverley Park   -      21  -  9 -  135

Last match for our team at Mordi and unfortunately could not come up with the goods. Waverley Park had a fair bit to play for with their position in the finals depending on a win. From the start it was not our match as we couldn't buy goal with most shots missing and our first goal not coming until the third quarter. Fourteen shots to thirty showed how attacking they played and their accuracy was pretty slick.

Great effort by Thommo again to get the votes. He played and outstanding last game for the club and should be congratulated on his performance. Other good efforts were from Sean, Sammy T, Matt C, Lewis who gave it all all day. Bad luck for Steve Lee who ended the season with a pretty bad knee injury.

It has been a mixed season for us and unfortunately our position in the first division was unfortunate given the teams we were up against. As I have said before we paid a high price for being runners up in last seasons grand final.

Boys had a great night on Sunday night and I'd like to thank Graham Emmerson for hosting their night out. To his credit Sammy Lowis did make it to work the next day, odds were against him. Thanks to Ricky and Simon for joining in and making it a night at the races to remember!!!

We are currently holding discussions with senior clubs regarding the boys football future with possible developments to be announced shortly. Hopefully we will be taking all the boys to the next level, coaching team included!!

End of season U17 vote count night

Final function will be the Best and Fairest vote count night Saturday 21 August. Expecting around 100 to attend. Guaranteed to be a memorable night. Past coaches have been invited and will be attending.

A big thanks to those parents that did pitch in and help out. Most know who they are.

Special thanks to Graeme and Karen who were always there with Karen filling in when ever required. Thanks also to Brian Andrews who always helped out with the boundary when I needed him and Kelly Dunstan who also put her hand up for boundary when I was desperate. And a special thanks also to Martin Lee for preparing the home ground and cleaning up after the matches every weekend.

I aim to hold a parents get together day, barbque, sometime down the track where we can advise of what we have in store for the boys next season. Watch this space.
